IP SANs 'strengthened by Infortrend'
04 Sep 2008
Infortrend claims that the range of IP-based storage area network (IP SAN) products available to organisations has been strengthened with the introduction of its EonStor S12E-R1132 controller and EonStor S12E-G1133 arrays.
By combining the two systems, the company suggests that clients may be able to adequately serve their needs for data storage environments which operate on the internet small computer system interface (iSCSI).
Thomas Kao, director of global product planning and marketing at Infortrend, says: "The new S12E systems expand our established iSCSI-host range of Raid solutions and will help our customers build IP SANs that reflect their needs."
Among the benefits of the EonStor family of iSCSI devices, Infortrend identifies the ease of data access and enhanced data integrity which may be experienced by those who install the units.
Infortrend previously announced that it had enhanced its proprietary suite of storage management software SANWatch in order to remove more of the burden from network managers.
