New Intransa system 'has security benefits'

15 Sep 2008

The Intransa Sharable Security Platform (ISSP) has been announced, which allows physical security vendors to deploy their applications on the platform.

Applications including network intercom, video analytics, biometrics and workflow systems can be deployed, according to Intransa.

"Physical security software applications will be able to run in a serverless manner for computing and storage requirements, leveraging the underlying open, IP-based Intransastorage," says Intransa chief technical officer Alan Rowe.

Physical security vendors and security practitioners would have a "tremendous benefit" from this, Mr Rowe claims, adding that the environment would be stable and dependable.

The ISSP is an open, combined storage and computing platform that multiple software applications can share with full IP support, the vendor claims.

The shared, external IP storage was found to be the highest performing and the only fully security-friendly storage solution in the physical security industry.

Intransa, based in San Jose, is a member and sponsor of The Green Grid and believes in the importance of green IT, its website says.
