HDS 'promises business continuity'

16 Sep 2008

Companies' business continuity preparations may be bolstered through the use of products and services from Hitachi Data Systems (HDS), the company asserts.

According to HDS, its new software-based heterogeneous replication solution, the HitachiStorage Replication Adapter, is a "best in class" option for firms running a virtualised network infrastructure.

John Mansfield, senior vice-president of global solutions strategy and development at the storage vendor, adds that the software plug-in helps to set improved performance on both recovery time objectives and recovery point objectives.

Moreover, he claims that the replication system enables firms to implement "an end-to-end, robust business continuity strategy" on their virtualised networks.

Recent praise for HDS has included the affirmation from the Storage Performance Council that its Universal Storage Platform V is the best-performing system of its type within the sector.

This follows independent benchmarking of the solution which clocked it as running at up to eight times the rate detected among competitors' products.
