Intransa storage praised at ASIS

19/09/2008 16:08:40

Storage systems from Intransa were the subject of praise at the recent ASIS International conference in Atlanta, Georgia, it has emerged.

The company took the opportunity of the event to distribute its new white paper, 12 Reasons for Shared, External IP Video Storage, which is also now available from the Intransa website.

Also at the event it launched its new StorStac product, StarterBlock, which aims to cut the costs associated with implementing IP-based video storage for surveillance systems and other applications.

Base StarterBlock systems come in two-gigabyte and four-gigabyte variations, upgradeable to 16 gigabytes, with no need to rip out existing analogue cameras and recording equipment.

Instead, the StorStac product interoperates with existing infrastructure to allow it to be retained - or, Intransa points out, could facilitate a gradual changeover from analogue devices to a digital system.

The organisers of ASIS International note that businesses are now facing information security threats on levels ranging from inside their own workforce to domestic and international attacks.
