Riverbed 'enables greater ROI'

Wide-area data services vendor Riverbed has announced that the OPNET ACE Live will be offered on its Service Platform (SP) to enable organisations to reach an enhanced application performance management in wide area network environments.
Furthermore, firms would see a greater return on investment on their capital input, while the Riverbed SP (RSP) can reduce their IT footprint because the need for separate dedicated servers will be removed as five remote office third-party software modules can be run instead, the vendor claims.
"Unlike alternatives, we're providing customers with greater flexibility and intelligence by allowing the branch office partner software the ability to leverage the RiOS acceleration pathway. This is a unique capability in our market," claims Alan Saldich, vice- president of product management and alliances at Riverbed.
The vendor has announced that a new virtualised software package on the RSP improves mission productivity and accelerates military satellite networks.
