Force10 S-series chosen 'for network reliability'
26 Nov 2008
The Force10 S-series access switches have been deployed at Xand Corporation's data centre for network speed and reliability.
Force10 states that its S-series provides core-like resiliency with a switching fabric capacity that tops 288 gigabits (Gbps), as well as up to 48 line-rate Gigabit Ethernet ports with four ten Gbps Ethernet ports in a 1-RU form factor.
Indeed, such features enables Xand Corporation to support its growing customer base through the high performance and low latency that the S-series switches deliver.
Commenting on the news, Steve Garrison, vice-president of marketing at Force10, says: "Force10 solutions enable the network to operate as a strategic asset that seamlessly answers the specific needs of a broad range of customers with uncompromising reliability and cost-effective performance."
The vendor was recently chosen by Los Alamos National Laboratory to provide its E-series switch and routers to power the world's first petaflop supercomputer.
