Epicenter launches PowerScope
26 Feb 2009
Epicenter has announced the launch of PowerScope, a new monitoring system which aims to report on energy requirements and demands within the data centre while helping companies to gauge the performance of their infrastructure investments.
The inline solution is designed to work with either cabinet-level or rack-level power reporting and allows remote access to reporting software for off-site examinations of data centre conditions.
Edward DiRocco, worldwide vice-president of sales at Epicenter, says: "Operating expenses are becoming an increasing drag on a company's bottom line within the data centre and, in order to fully understand power costs, you need the ability to monitor where your power is being utilised."
The manufacturer adds that the system provides "intelligence" to companies' data storage environments without compromising on existing investments made.
PowerScope is available in single-phase or three-phase variations to work with voltages of 120 V, 208 V or 240 V and includes integrated monitoring of environmental conditions, Epicenter advises.
