Spectra Logic expands Federal operations
26 Feb 2009
Spectra Logic has announced further expansion of its work with Federal organisations in the US.
A new technology centre has been unveiled by the company in Washington DC to better serve Federal customers, who now account for 25 per cent of its North American revenues on an annual basis.
Brian Grainger, vice-president and general manager for Spectra Logic Federal, says: "Spectra Logic continues to grow and invest top-line revenue in research and development for the Federal division."
With the new facility, he adds that Federal customers will be able to test their new installations and gain an insight into how the technology works.
More than 200 Federal organisations already use Spectra Logic solutions to protect their data during backup and recovery procedures.
Spectra Logic recently announced the launch of a new media lifecycle management tool for tape-based storage which connects to a computer via USB.
Using the device, storage managers can test the health of tapes without needing to attach them into the tape library and potentially place data at risk.
