Virtualisation 'makes companies stronger'

03 Jun 2009

Companies can strengthen their operations by adopting virtualisation, it has been claimed.

Danny Guillory, chief executive officer of training provider and consultancy Innovations International, explains that the benefits of virtualisation can reach beyond simple cost savings.

"The bottom line is, virtualisation can create a stronger organisation where employees work efficiently and with the balance that working from home can offer," he says.

But he adds that there are financial benefits to be derived from virtualisation as well, through the reduction in energy costs and the lower overheads associated with the move away from a centralised business location.

Mr Guillory's insight is drawn from his own experience of guiding Innovations International through the virtualisation process, creating a company network which spans eight states in the US.

Dr William A Guillory, a seminar facilitator at Innovations International, writes in his book The Living Organization that decentralisation and greater flexibility are among two of the main benefits that he has seen in clients of the consultancy since it opened in 1994..
