Intransa unveils VA100 and VA200 VideoAppliances

16 Jun 2009

Intransa has unveiled the VA100 and VA200 video storage solutions, the latest instalments in its VideoAppliance product line-up.

With the devices, the company says users can increase their capacity for digital video retention without compromising on quality standards such as frame rate and image resolution.

The systems can extend this retention to analogue cameras attached to the surveillance network, helping to reduce the risks of lost footage that can be experienced with some closed-circuit television solutions.

Installation is a two-stage process, requiring some basic information about the surveillance environment to be entered, along with the licence key for the relevant pre-installed software option.

While performance depends on the installation environment, Intransa places maximum frame rates at 1,500 frames per second for the VA100 with MPEG-4 compression or 1,800 frames per second using the same compression on the VA200.

Among the pre-loaded software options is Exacq Technologies' exacqVision, which Intransa chief executive officer Bud Broomhead recently noted is often requested by the company's customers.
