Brocade networking products chosen by Insight Investment

Financial services group Insight Investment has selected Brocade products for its storage area and Ethernet networks.
Numerous benefits have been witnessed as a result of the move, including reduced heat production, lower power consumption and generally diminished operating costs.
Meanwhile, the enhanced performance has allowed Insight Investment to reduce its overnight backup window by almost a third when compared with the length of time it took on its previous infrastructure.
Peter Lethbridge, head of IT at Insight Investment, says: "Bandwidth - particularly overnight - is very important. Throughput bottlenecks across the network were impacting performance and our existing infrastructure was no longer coping with demand."
The decision to adopt Brocade networking products was made following a comprehensive analysis of areas where improvement might be made by Insight Investment which spanned the range from bandwidth performance to overall system design.
In June, Brocade reported that it had reached a milestone as it completed testing of its host bus adapters as being interoperable with storage systems from all of the industry's major manufacturers.
