LifeSize HD helps Barnardo's to 'do what it does best'

Children's charity Barnardo's is doing what it does best with the use of LifeSize high-definition (HD) communication technologies, it has been revealed.

The video conferencing solutions from LifeSize were used in June to connect Barnardo's representatives with researchers at the University of California, Berkeley, to help support the charity's operations in the UK.

Barnardo's telecommunications manager Paul Panton says: "LifeSize has helped Barnardo's do what we do best – help children. Why send an email when you can talk face-to-face over video?"

LifeSize HD solutions were selected to help maintain the use of face-to-face meetings while helping to reduce the charity's outgoings on transportation and travel costs across its 400 UK projects, 6,500 employees and 11,000-strong volunteer workforce.

In mid-July, LifeSize reported it had delivered "unmatched" price performance and superior quality to its customers with the release of the LifeSize Multipoint 230 communications bridge and version 4.5 of its LifeSize Control management platform.
