Steelhead Mobile 3.0 announced by Riverbed

Riverbed Technology has announced the Steelhead Mobile 3.0, which increases the productivity of employees who are working away from the office or at home, as well as those connected wirelessly in the office.
Organisations can also benefit from simplified management functionality and improved flexibility as mobile employees can experience accelerated performance of applications.
Previous deployments of Riverbed Steelheads have seen customers enjoy web applications up to 60 times faster than they were before and the Mobile 3.0 extends benefits to the application layer of HTTPS and HTTP users.
Eric Wolford, senior vice-president of marketing and business development at Riverbed, says: "As companies focus on consolidating their data through private cloud initiatives, the distance between their employees and critical data is growing - employees are becoming more mobile, working from a variety of locations outside of the office."
Riverbed was ranked 21st on Deloitte's Technology Fast 500 list after its revenues increased by 12,911 per cent between 2004-08.
