Force10 and Afore team up to offer "seamless migration" product

17 Nov 2009

Force 10 has revealed that it will start selling the data centre technology of Afore - a provider of virtualisation solutions. The Advanced Service Edge (ASE) package will be back on the market after the two data systems producers teamed up to offer the service.

ASE allows businesses to train their networks to allocate resources across physical boundaries, which makes applications available regardless of location. The solution is a combination of Force10's switching and routing programme and Afore's network extension abilities. By deploying the unique mixture of technologies, users can take advantage of access to public, private and hybrid cloud storage.

James Hanley, president of field operations at Force10, said: "Force10's strength in building high-performance data centres has been long realised with industry-leading, core-to-rack-edge solutions. This new resale partnership with Afore extends that reach and scope."

Last week NYSE Euronext, a New York-based global exchange group, announced it would be using Force10's C-Series technology at its data centres because of its reliability, innovation and speed.
