Eaton technology 'allows systems to work at industry-high efficiency'
24 Nov 2009
New energy-saving technology has been unveiled by Eaton which will allow three-phase uninterruptable power systems (UPSes) to work at the highest efficiency recorded in the industry. The Energy Saver System from the company will operate at 99 per cent efficiency without sacrificing any reliability.
The solutions product can detect changes in power conditions and supply and react to them. It will transfer a data centre from one mode to another quicker and more reliably than similar technology. Modes include standard, double conversion, high alert and storm detection.
Michael Mallia, general manager of power quality at Eaton, said: "With the Energy Saver System there is no compromise, a single UPS delivers consistent power quality and protection for IT systems with the highest efficiency across all load ranges."
Earlier this month Eaton claimed to be "raising the bar" for network energy control by releasing the SC200 V3 - an advanced power system controller for telecommunication organisations.
