Hotel group introduces Riverbed Steelheads 'to reduce business costs'
02 Dec 2009
Riverbed Technology, the IT infrastructure performance company for networks, applications and storage, has revealed that 22 of its revolutionary Steelheads will be introduced at venues belonging to the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group.
As a result of using the firm's wide area network (WAN) optimisation solutions, the hotel company can expect significant improvements in the performance of its systems, which could reduce operating costs and increase customer satisfaction.
The group owns and runs 41 hotels across the world and while IT standards remain similar across the board, another reason for selecting Riverbed Steelheads is that they can be manipulated to meet local requirements.
Raju Daryanani, vice-president of IT infrastructure and information security at Mandarin Oriental, said: "Production network testing showed that access to our new corporate Intranet site was significantly faster. This directly translates to a lower cost of business operations for our company, as well as improved customer satisfaction."
Riverbed was recently awarded the title of Top Provider at the PilotHouse Awards for its solutions relating to WAN optimisation. The firm said it was committed to creating innovative technology.
