MNCs 'will have strong focus on video solutions this year'
01 Feb 2010
Multinational corporations (MNCs) will place a significant emphasis on unified communications (UC) in 2010, according to one website, with special focus on video solutions. Research by Reportlinker.com suggests that despite budget constraints, investment in UC will remain healthy.
The implementation of internet protocol telephony solutions and software collaborations is "underway", the site says. Indeed, the only area which is currently more in demand is the video sector, with products such as LifeSize's video conferencing technology a potential 2010 hit.
MNCs questioned by the website for its latest research revealed that investment in video technology is likely to be among their top priorities for the coming year. Another key trend found within the study's results showed that the majority of firms will seek to use one vendor for all of their video, telephony and software solutions.
Gerald Quindlen, the president and chief executive officer of Logitech which recently merged with LifeSize, said in December that LifeSize solutions can bring added value to any firm.
