LifeSize video conferencing solutions could be ideal for rural businesses
01 Feb 2010
LifeSize's video conferencing technology may be ideally suited to businesses and people in rural or out-of-reach parts of the country which are hoping for an easier link to others. The American College of Radiology believes video conferencing is a "practical and effective" way for two parties to meet.
It can negate the need to travel and help companies save the associated costs - which could be a significant incentive for those based a long distance from business hubs. As well as financial incentives, video conferencing can also increase productivity as workers spend longer in the office and less time on the road.
Kevin O'Regan, managing director of a study which was recently featured in the college's monthly journal, said: "The findings of this study demonstrate that the use of videoconferencing can enable successful completion of an education program for radiology trainees located at considerable distances from a main teaching site."
It was suggested last week by Harris Stratex Networks - which has recently installed LifeSize video conferencing solutions - that using the technology has helped it to cut its travel expenses by 30 per cent.
