Riverbed reports 11 per cent revenue rise

05 Feb 2010

Riverbed has announced a significant surge in demand for its products, with revenue rising by 11 per cent in the final quarter of 2009 and 22 per cent compared with the corresponding period in 2008. Total generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) revenue for the three-month period was $112.9 million (£71.9 million).

Results from the entire year were arguably even more successful, with the firm reporting total GAAP revenue of $394.1 million - up 18 per cent on 2008. Riverbed has suggested an increase in enterprise sales is the primary factor behind its recent good performance.

Jerry Kennelly, chairman and chief executive officer at Riverbed, said: "2009 was a year of significant achievement for Riverbed characterised by market share gains every reported quarter. We executed well in a difficult economy, achieving strong revenue and profit growth while still advancing our technology."

Riverbed this week announced an enhanced partner programme designed to increase its reach around the world. It is taking a two-tiered distribution approach in North America which should help it meet demand for wide-area network optimisation solutions more easily.
