Firm installs Isilon clustered storage system 'to manage multiple jobs'
08 Feb 2010
IE Effects - which specialises in offering film makers across the US the facilities of large studios in a boutique setting - has deployed a clustered storage system by Isilon in a bid to deal with the numerous jobs its data centre runs at any time. The Isilon system has been chosen for its ability to enable the firm to deal with synchronised data transfers.
The clustered system is easily scalable, with capacity added at any point by simply plugging a new node into the technology. It is also helping IE Effects to offer an improved service to its clients - with efficiency and reliability said to be much improved thanks to the solution.
Mike Braico, executive vice-president of sales at Integrated Media Technologies, which installed the Isilon system, said: "The Isilon [IQ6000X] has a load balancing feature that distributes the bandwidth evenly across all the storage nodes. This keeps it running efficiently as you scale up."
Isilon is a proven world leader in scale-out network-attached storage systems, offering solutions designed to maximise economic value for users.
