Company chooses Asigra's backup in bid to improve productivity
08 Feb 2010
Master Lock - the world's largest manufacturer of padlocks - has cut its backup management time by more than 200 per cent thanks to Asigra's cloud backup and recovery technology. It has made the transition from tape backup to free up staff used to spending considerable time working on the complex and time-consuming system.
Since 2006 the company has added 80 servers and more than 600 users to its system, increasing the difficulty associated with operating it. But Master Lock's backup solutions did not develop with the rapidly-changing data centre, making a change to cloud backup inevitable.
Barry Jondahl, director of systems infrastructure and operations for Master Lock, says: "With the new cloud backup system, all of our application backups are hot and we can now run our servers 24/7 without interruption. This is a huge benefit and has improved the efficiency of our IT department."
Asigra was recently named as one of the companies to watch in 2010 by Computer Dealer News. The publication said it expected Asigra to at least match the "great strides" it made in 2009.
