17/03/2010 17:21:08

Spectra Logic has been named by the US General Services Administration (GSA) as being in the top ten per cent of the IT contractors it used during 2009. The vendor has secured its place among the elite solutions providers employed by the government organisation for the third consecutive year.

The GSA added several new Spectra Logic products to its system during 2009, including the T-Finity tape library, the T680 mid-range tape library and disk-based nTier deduplication lines. Spectra has a track record of supporting US government departments and organisations.

Brian Grainger, vice-president of worldwide sales at Spectra, said: "Spectra Logic's solutions are ideally suited for the government market – from high density, energy-efficient tape libraries to disk-based deduplication appliances that reduce stored data volumes."

Last month, Spectra Logic posted record-breaking financial results for the final quarter of 2009. A surge in popularity of its tape, disk and software solutions helped the company achieve its highest profit.
