Demand for video conferencing alive and kicking

Lifesize - Video Conferencing

Half of Zycko’s video resellers have been proactively approached for video conferencing (VC) solutions claims the distributor, but there is still a lack of VC knowledge in the market overall. This news is based on a survey of 204 resellers carried out to ascertain current video sentiment in the channel.

It also revealed that video use is widespread in the channel with just over 40 per cent of resellers claiming they use VC internally. Sales and management staff used VC the most with the most common type of usage reported as customer communications.

Zycko’s CEO, David Galton-Fenzi, commented on VC’s channel evolution: “In terms of the future of video, unified communications solutions, such as Microsoft Lync 2013, that include video functionality are changing the way people and businesses communicate and are set to confirm video as a mainstream method of communication.”

However the traditional video sell would still seem to be holding fast – 84 per cent of resellers reported ‘good’ or ‘very good’ experiences with the kit with only one per cent claiming their experience was ‘poor’. It appears, that for the UK channel at least, high definition VC is an accepted business tool and a channel necessity.
