Data explosion Responsible For 100 GB Ethernet Over Copper

A recent report published in the publication Network Communications News (NCN) has highlighted how the explosion in virtualisation and virtual server usage is driving the demand for copper cabling capable of delivering high speed 100 GB Ethernet technologies.

There has been a surge in the amount of data transferred in the home by using various websites and streaming services such as Netflix. However, this will not compare to the reality of huge amounts of machine-to-machine (M2M) data communication in the coming years.

This has necessitated the need for faster network speeds, with NCN citing a Penn State University report that confirmed the possibility of 100 GB Ethernet over copper in the future.

The news will be welcomed by accessories and components brand, ProLabs. The home grown Zycko brand supplys numerous types of copper cabling suitable for data centres.
