Data deduplication expert ExaGrid’s EX13000E has been nominated for Storage Magazine’s ‘Product of the Year’ in the backup hardware category, which encompasses technologies such as tape drives for backup, physical and virtual tape libraries, deduplication technology and gateway appliances for cloud backup.

ExaGrid Systems Inc. EX13000E utilises grid design which allows system administrators to amalgamate up to ten servers in order to store 130 terabytes of data. In instances where the primary virtual machine is down, users are still able to retrieve virtual machine data directly through instant virtual machine recovery. Every EX13000E is equipped with 16 two terabyte disks, 16 gigabytes of memory and two CPUs in a 19-inch rackmount chassis.

“Our groundbreaking EX13000E and 130TB GRID addresses the requirement we constantly hear from customers who need to efficiently back-up data today and also scale in a cost-effective manner to meet future needs”, said Marc Crespi, vice president of Product Management, ExaGrid.
