LifeSize Claims BYOD Will Increase Mobile VC20 April 2012 10:01:00
High definition video conferencing pioneer LifeSize has claimed that the bring-your-own-device (BYOD) trend will increase the amount of mobile videoconferencing performed by business. The claim is in a blog on the website which points out that company issue hardware is becoming a thing of the past, and the result of smartphone market saturation is that employees now want to use these devices along with tablet computers in the business environment.
The blog’s author, Dan Lothringer, cites stats that reveal almost half of companies are already meeting this new BYOD requirement with specific policies and 94 per cent of companies expect to have a policy in place by 2013.
Lothringer noted: “Now anyone with a tablet or laptop can take part in video conferencing. Because LifeSize supports over 40 mobile devices, interoperability challenges are now a thing of the past.”
