LifeSizeTelecommunications firm Virgin Mobile India has seen a 20 per cent drop in its corporate travel after implementing video conferencing solutions from LifeSize.

Low bandwidth was a requirement of the system due to the fact that some users are faced with maximum upload rates of 512 kb per second.

Despite this, superb quality levels of both video and sound were required in order for the telecommunications operator to benefit adequately from its installation.

Sanjay Singh, general manager of operations for Virgin Mobile India, reveals some of the advantages that have been seen since LifeSize video conferencing equipment was installed.

"We've cut air travel, yet productivity and collaboration have increased because everyone - from product management to marketing and IT - is meeting face to face every day," he says.

LifeSize previously revealed how it has added high-definition data sharing capabilities to its system software, allowing remote desktop access during conferences for either PC or Mac users.
