Xsigo Makes Data Centre Fabric Comparison

16 April 2012 18:35:00

Xsigo has been weighed against the data centre fabric giants and emerged the victor, on account of its flexibility and comprehensive compatibility for tailor made virtualisation.

In fields comparing open architecture and native fibre channel support, Brocade VCS and HP Virtual Connect offered comparable benefits. In terms of speed, however, Xsigo proved fastest of the alternatives, with the unique benefits of real-time connection management, secure multi-tenancy, and bandwidth control.

Each flexible infrastructure offers a tailored solution to data centre virtualisation, however Xsigo suggests careful evaluation is needed before deploying one fabric over another. The comparative report recommends that IT managers learn more about the full potential of data centre fabrics before choosing a provider.

Eighty per cent of Xsigo customers use a fibre channel interface for I/O intensive apps, and have greater control over their bandwidth and real time connection management.
