LifeSize Icon Series Simplifies Video Conferencing User Experience
Video conferencing leader LifeSize says its latest release, the Icon series, is its highest quality video system to date.
For a start, the newly designed product line features a completely new, simplified user experience designed to render video a communication method so simple anyone can use it without any training. This is just one way that the Icon, based on years of careful tracking of end-user behaviour with previous generations of LifeSize video solutions, marks a step change in technology that will break down the last remaining barriers to wider market acceptance of this form of business communication.
As the firm’s CEO, Colin Buechler, puts it: “Making a video call should not involve pressing a dozen buttons, deciphering a complicated remote control and navigating through an intimidating user interface.”
Buechler feels it’s time those kind of barriers – “along with outrageous cost and an overwhelming burden on IT” – that have kept businesses from exploiting video the way they should.
The new approach has already won backing from independent third-parties: a representative of analyst group Frost & Sullivan has described the system as “slick” adding there is “tremendous market opportunity” for the solution, “especially at its attractive price point”.
