LifeSize Installation Is “Win-Win Situation” For Mississippi Taxpayers
An American courthouse has introduced LifeSize high definition video conferencing into its proceedings, improving citizen safety and saving taxpayers’ money.
Instead of transporting individuals between court and jail for certain hearings, the Hinds County Justice System uses a video conferencing connection between the two. This has been described as a “win-win situation” in an age where tax money is expected to be managed much more smartly than in the past.
“Now with video conferencing, the judge is able to remain in the courtroom with the court administrator and attorneys. There is no transportation from the jail to the courthouse, so it saves us 25 miles in the cost of gas. The arraignment process is done in a matter of hours instead of an entire day,” said state of Mississippi senior circuit court Judge Tomie Green.
In this respect, Judge Green went on to say, the technology has delivered exactly what they expected it to – savings on travel and much more efficient proceedings.
As a global leader in high definition video conferencing, LifeSize understands how companies and enterprises connect and knows that personal interaction is the lifeblood of all businesses.
