LifeSize Reveals Further Details On Lync-Ready Room System

Lifesize - Video Conferencing

More details have emerged about how video conferencing solutions leader LifeSize intends to service the growing Microsoft Lync global community.

The latter had already announced it is to bring its video conferencing experience to that widely-popular UC (unified communications) system, tapping LifeSize to be one of the select group of vendors it will work with to manage this. Now Microsoft has confirmed a new class of Lync products are set for launch: the Lync Room System for the meeting/conference room context.

At the same time, LifeSize has also released more specifics on what it’s bringing to the Room universe. These centre on a new meeting room collaboration system jointly developed with Microsoft, the LifeSize LRS1000 for Microsoft Lync. The technology will support access to all the familiar Lync tools from a video session, plus support for touch-enabled displays for digital whiteboarding, a touch-screen control console showcasing your company directory (and which will offer presence, calendar, voice and video calling functionality).

LifeSize, the multipoint video conferencing specialist division of Logitech, promises the product will debut in the second quarter of this year.
