Diligent ProtecTIER 'helps to manage data growth'

Innovative products such as ProtecTIER from Diligent Technologies can prove beneficial to companies with growing data management needs, it has been claimed.

The suggestion comes from Rake Narang, editor-in-chief of industry publication Network Products Guide, which has recently bestowed upon Diligent Technologies the accolade of 2008 Product Innovation Award.

Diligent Technologies adds that the inline deduplication system can help to reduce overall backup requirements by 25 times, allowing businesses to make the most of the capacity available to them.

Furthermore, as deduplication takes place during the archiving process, there is no need to spend additional time working on the backup volume once it is compiled - meaning the process is faster than post hoc equivalents, Diligent Technologies notes.
