Enterprise Strategy Group Confirms ExaGrid Backup Excellence

Disk backup and deduplication expert ExaGrid has announced that independent analyst Enterprise Strategy Group has confirmed that ExaGrid delivers excellent results to customers. The analyst group has produced a lab report in the aftermath of a routine hands-on test of the EX13000E solution.

During the test, the EX13000E proved ExaGrid is a reliable, fast and secure method of disk backup by achieving a start time of 16 minutes for the first backup to be running again after configuration started, an aggregate backup rate of 2.95 TB/hour using Symantec OST running over a 10 GB Ethernet connection and a deduplication ratio of 24:1.

The report concludes by saying: “ESG Lab believes that organizations struggling with the cost, complexity and risk associated with tape backups would be wise to consider the bottom line savings that can be achieved with ExaGrid: faster backups, quicker and more reliable restores, lower risk, lower expenses (capital and operational), and last, but not least, a greener solution with optimized power and cooling.”
