Force10 Networks has announced its top-of-rack (ToR) switches can now use Intel's cloud access control software under the vendor's Open Cloud NetworkingSM (OCN) framework to help enterprises conveniently move to the cloud.ToR solutions such as the Force10 S-Series S7000 open cloud switch have been integrated with Intel Expressway Cloud Access 360 technology, while the incorporation of cloud single-sign on (SSO) helps user policies be moved by data centre managers to the cloud.
"Working with Intel enables us to extend our network automation capabilities for enterprises to leverage public clouds and/or deploy software-as-a-service (SaaS) applications so that our customers can easily and quickly deploy secure cloud solutions," explained vice-president of global alliances and channels at Force10 Networks Michael O'Brien.
Medium and large companies can benefit from compute-intensive applications being transferred from private to public cloud platforms, while smaller businesses can cost-effectively overlay SSO to SaaS provider appliances.
Force10 Networks recently revealed its OCN, which enables enterprises to customise their data centres with the S7000 ToR open cloud switch, lowering total cost of ownership and improving port density levels.
