Force10The S4810 top-of-rack (ToR) switch from Force10 Networks has been recognised by the Technology Marketing Corporation for its innovative features and its ability to boost the performance of data centre networking.

Force10 Networks' ultra-low latency ToR switch was given the 2011 NGN Leadership Award, with the vendor's chief marketing officer Arpit Joshipura stating: "Having this product win the [ ... ] award validates the work we have done to deliver high performance and ultra-low-latency with a compact form factor for data centre and service provider environments."

Indeed, the S4810 ToR switch is designed for those environments that require high bandwidth and therefore delivers four 40 GbE uplinks, 48 duel-speed 1/10 GbE ports and line-rate layer 3 and 2 forwarding capacity to bolster network performance through its ultra-low latency capabilities.

Meanwhile, Intel's cloud access control software can now be used by Force10 Networks' ToR switches - such as the S7000 open cloud switch - to better support enterprises when they migrate to the cloud.
