Gartner: CIOs Must 'Bolster Security Policies' For BYOD
21 June 2012 17:21:00
Research by Gartner has revealed that the trend for bring-your-own-device has placed renewed importance on enterprise IT security – presenting a huge opportunity for wireless LAN solutions suppliers like Meru Networks.
According to Gartner's survey, 86 per cent of enterprise respondents are planning to purchase media tablets this year.
This suggests that the importance of secure virtualised wireless LAN solutions, such as those offered by Meru Networks, is only set to increase.
“Healthy growth in smartphone and media tablet shipments over the next five years will enable a much higher level of IT consumerisation than is currently possible,” said Chae-Gi Lee, research director at Gartner.
The same report highlighted the importance of network access control and mobile device management when dealing with BYOD. This is welcome news for BYOD specialist Bradford Networks that offers the best solutions to enable secure network access for mobile devices in the corporate environment.
