Huawei Symantec Provides Media and Entertainment Industry Solution

Huawei Symantec has announced a new solution portfolio for the entertainment and media industry to service the film, broadcast and animation sectors.

The Media Asset Management (MAM) storage solution is a clustered NAS system which features tiered storage, disk spin-down, intelligent fan units and CPU speed tuning. These technologies help reduce power consumption by up to 70% and reduce operational costs. The MAM is built on the Huawei Symantec new Oceanspace N8000 series.

Additionally, Huawei Symantec has also introduced the Oceanspace S2600 and T-Series SAN storage systems alongside the Huawei Symantec Pure SSD Oceanspace Dorado, designed for post-production services including editing and post-production workflows.

Edmont Rao, regional director of sub-Saharan Africa said, "The exponential growth in the volume of data that needs to be stored, managed and retrieved is creating enormous challenges for those in the media and entertainment industry, particularly as it becomes more digital."
