QStar reveals HSM Synchronous Archive Replicator 'to support data compliance needs'
28 April 2011 14:39:30
The new HSM Synchronous Archive Replicator from QStar Technologies can help enterprises develop a more robust plan to support their data compliance procedures.According to the vendor, its new solution provides a wealth of benefits to those firms that deploy it, including an optimised IT infrastructure, the backup overhead for archived information being eliminated and efficient access to such data.
Senior vice-president of sales and marketing at QStar Technologies Dave Thomson explained that the vendor decided to develop the HSM Synchronous Archive Replicator because data often lasts much longer than storage technology.
"By enabling our customers to create hybrid archives, we free them from vendor lock-in and future-proof their archiving infrastructure investments," he added. Furthermore, different storage platforms can be used, including cloud, removable hard disk and tape.
QStar Technologies last year revealed the Object Storage Manager, which allows old solutions at enterprises to be easily replaced, eliminating often-expensive data migration.
