Riverbed Gives MSPs Performance Monitoring Capability

Managed service providers (MSPs) can now deliver network and application performance monitoring as a service thanks to Riverbed's new Cascade solutions.

Cascade Profiler Virtual Edition and Cascade Gateway Virtual Edition provide a virtualised network  performance management (NPM) solution that MSPs can offer to their small and medium-sized business customers.

Cascade Profiler Virtual Edition is a centralised analysis and reporting console that integrates application and network data from Cascade Gateway Virtual Edition, which collects and aggregates statistics and flow data from the network.

The new products allow MSPs to quickly provision performance management services for customers, regardless of whether they are office-based or remote.

Cascade products are also integrated with the Riverbed Steelhead family, providing a comprehensive performance-monitoring service for MSPs that offer WAN optimisation.

Randy Schirman, Riverbed's senior vice-president of worldwide channel sales, said the Cascade  portfolio sets the vendor apart from the competition.
