Leading enterprise technology resource InfoWorld has published six tips on how to save data centre energy. While the article covers long-established best practices like location and cooling, it also touches on lesser known areas like the advantage of dry and not just cool conditions in order to accelerate heat removal. It also describes the latest eco-units with their own built-in power efficiency technology; advice on switching from AC to DC power; instruction on switching to individual power saving components and then some left-field ideas like: “...airborne data centre modules” and “... a combination micro-brewery and datacentre”.
