SmartOptics new T Series addition

SmartOptics has started the new year by adding the T-4408 to its T Series of products.

The T-4408 is a multi service CWDM (coarse wave division multiplexing) and DWDM (dense wavelength division multiplexing) transport access device that supports eight services up to 4.25Gbps with optical 3R regeneration for all protocols.

The Norwegian optical storage and data networks firm claims the T-4408 offers impressive cost performance in transmission network construction.

The device, stored in a compact 1U platform, also includes built-in SNMP (simple network management protocol) management with a graphical user interface and dual AC, DC or mixed power supply units. It also offers performance monitoring for gigabit ethernet and fibre channel services.

Other members of the T Series include the T-4000 4 channel multi-rate converter the T-3009 Mux/Demux unit that allows for wavelength capacity to be increased by multiplexing eight CWDM wavelengths..
