snom Launches Apollo Firmware

snom, a provider of IP desktop phones and IP communications solutions, has recently announced a new beta release of firmware for its snom UC business phone portfolio for Microsoft Lync.

The update provides users with a range of new features, including Music on Hold, Boss/Admin to simplify the flow of calls between two co-workers, and Presence capabilities where contacts can be assigned to a phone’s buttons directly from the contact list while also offering live presence status in real-time.

Also, snom’s rapidly expanding range of UC Phones offer greater functionality than their traditional voice counterparts, owing to their compatibility with Lync’s productivity-enhancing features.

Furthermore, Apollo will allow snom’s products to be deployed with “plug and play” simplicity, and managed directly from a Microsoft Lync server which offers “easy-sign in” usability, free from password changes.
