In a recent survey of 2,500 IT professionals conducted by Computer Weekly and TechTarget, it has been revealed that around 30% of IT departments in the UK plan to integrate smartphones and tablets into their businesses in 2012. Of those surveyed, 28.9% are planning on adopting smartphone use within their businesses and 30.3% will be implementing tablets.

Many companies are calling 2012 the year of ‘bring your own device’, as adopting this approach to work results in cost savings on hardware and satisfied staff, increasing numbers of which are asking to use the same technology at work and at home.

Companies such as Meru Networks are enabling business mobility, by providing companies with secure, scalable, virtualised wireless environments in which to work.
