Virtensys 'removes rigidity' from IO deployments

VirtensysInput-output (IO) virtualisation solutions from Virtensys can help to make deployments more flexible, the company suggests.

Bob Napaa, vice-president of marketing and business development at Virtensys, explains that the firm's services "remove the rigid constraints of traditional IO deployments from servers and substantially reduce IO power consumption".

Other savings are made on server management complexity, operational expenses and the cost of equipment itself, he adds.

In all, Virtensys claims that savings of as much as 60 per cent can be made by reducing the need for access switches, eliminating cabling of both network and storage devices and cutting consumption of power by IO functions.

The suggestions come as Virtensys announces that its products are now available to US government agencies through the General Services Administration initiative, which selects specific suppliers for the nation's federal market.

Mr Napaa has 17 years of past experience at numerous firms within the semiconductors industry fulfilling marketing roles and advising on acquisitions.
