Xsigo Talks Secure Multi Tenancy
16 December 2011 17:46:00
According to I/O virtualisation specialist Xsigo, secure multi tenancy is going to become a big issue. This is in part due to new data protection measures that are set to be enforced by the European Union. In an article written about the subject in Forbes, the author claimed that: “…businesses would face fines of as much as 5% of their global turnover…if they are adjudged to have mishandled the personal data of customers, suppliers, or employees.”
Xsigo then goes on to offer its own solution to protecting data. By placing data within protected boundaries, it does not leave the building it is housed in. This, it claims, can be achieved through I/O virtualisation. The process of creating ‘Secure Multi Tenancy’ allows companies to provide separate storage and network paths to servers that can be deleted at any time. This, Xsigo claims, has been verified in an independent security audit.
