Multinational Company Picks snom For New Lync Phone System

A multinational producer of industrial fasteners and installation tools has announced that it has chosen snom technology, a leading provider of VoIP solutions, to replace its phone system.

Italian-based Rivit S.r.l. had previously been struggling with the limitations of its analogue phone system that had been implemented in 2006. Specifically the company found that it was struggling to grow because of the outdated communications tools, which could not custom configure internal extensions or additional telephone services.

Rivit, which was formed 41 years ago, looked to snom UC edition phones and Microsoft Lync for Unified Communications (UC). The new solution enabled the firm to leverage its IP infrastructure to establish a configurable, flexible voice system while making it easier for employees to reach internal and external colleagues.

Centro Computer SPA, an Italy-based infrastructure and telecommunications consultancy, recommended snom to Rivit because of its feature-richness, ease of deployment and the customisation ability of the UC edition phones.

Rivit has now implemented 60 of the phones, using a mix of the snom 710, 720 and 760 phone models. The fact that the phones are the only Lync qualified devices that can be natively provisioned directly from the Lync Server was also cited as another important reason behind Rivit’s choice.

In a case study, snom explained: “Rivit saved time and money by not having to install additional provisioning servers to deploy the phones, a common pain point of other Lync qualified phones. In fact, this has been a differentiation point for us for some time.”

snom offers an award-winning portfolio of VoIP communications solutions.
