Zycko and AYC strengthen partnership through mobile convergence

Reseller opportunities for mobile VoIP expanded

26th January 2007 - Zycko, a value-added distributor of best-in-class convergent data storage and IP solutions, has extended its partnership with market-leading IP PBX vendor AYC Telecom to deliver converged mobile VoIP interoperability with the IPcts product portfolio.

One of the driving factors behind presence awareness is mobile convergence. Today, Zycko's resellers have access to AYC's portfolio of products to address this growing market, enabling business users to achieve incoming and outgoing connectivity through their company's internal communications network.

Mobile convergence technology is currently at the forefront of business communications and, according to recent research, demand for fixed-mobile bundled services will grow quickly over the next three years.

David Galton-Fenzi, group sales director at Zycko, said the development further enables its VARs to provide their customers' with multiple telecommunications advantages.

"Mobile convergence greatly reduces communications costs because calls usually made over GSM can now be made over an internal company network," he said. "In addition, employees can have their usual desk extension number on their mobile-phone to increase their productivity and communications efficiency levels by being available more easily across a range of devices."

AYC's IPcts hardware combines a telephone PBX system with the functionality of an IP telephony system, encased within a 19inch rack, wall or desktop mountable chassis. The system has several configuration options; either 16 IP trunks for 25 users extensions or 24 IP trunks for 50 user extensions.

Interoperability tests between AYC's IPcts and Nokia's N and E series mobile phones have already been successfully completed and additional features include: voicemail, auto attendant, call queuing, CTI, least cost routing, Wi-Fi and a VoIP network analyser tool.
