Recruitment Via Video Conferencing On The Up, Say UK Businesses
Video as a recruitment medium is of growing interest to UK firms, a recent survey has found.
New research by consultancy OfficeTeam has revealed that 41 per cent of HR directors contacted are conducting interviews by the format.
HR teams say that’s because a dearth of staff with the right talent profile is forcing British organisations to look further and further afield to attract the best candidates. That’s borne out by the fact no less than 89 per cent of the 600 personnel leaders in the survey says it was either “somewhat” or “very” challenging to match applicant to positions.
So no wonder 41 per cent of them say they need to talk to prospects far enough away to warrant either expensive travel – or affordable connection by video. That’s helped by the fact video’s become less of an exotic tool, too: 56 per cent of this sample say they now have easy access to better quality business video.
