UK Businesses Wasting Billions On Business Travel

Lifesize - Video Conferencing

As the UK struggles to find the ‘Go’ button for a stalled economy, technology could be said to slash overheads and push more firms towards profitability.

And the amount of overhead that could go could be quite remarkable – as much as £10bn, according to experts at Zycko, a highly successful international value-added distributor of innovative IT solutions.

How? By using state of the art but highly affordable high definition business video conferencing solutions, says the company’s group sales director, David Galton-Fenzi, who points out how much needless travel can crimp both productivity and profitability.

“With [this technology] you can cut business travel and associated business costs and actually have more meetings, more often,” he says. “The benefits are simply too strong to ignore.”

Galton-Fenzi points to products like the high definition video conferencing solutions from LifeSize as an example. LifeSize customers report not just up to 12 per cent reductions in their carbon footprints thanks to diminished travel requirements, but also a cut in the number of business trips they make a year by up to 50 per cent.

They also find the technology to be reliable, high quality and hugely scalable, whilst remaining very cost-effective.
