It’s essential in the broadcast industry that any solution does what it says it can and at a rapid rate. Any downtime or ‘black space’ as it’s known in this industry causes the broadcast to stop completely, which costs a lot of money and naturally shakes client confidence. Huawei Symantec’s excellent track record in the telecoms sector made them a natural fit for an industry that relies on trusted recommendations and due diligence tests carried out at the very highest levels, before it implements a new technology.

WISE Campus Relies on Meru Networks Wireless Technology
Almost immediately after going live with the wireless network, the College’s IT personnel were flooded with calls from users frustrated with the unreliability and poor performance of the network. Overwhelmed by the volume of complaints, the College sought specialist support from Synaptics Solutions, a systems integrator with expertise in the design, deployment and supporting of large scale wireless networks within academia. After a thorough survey and review of the system, Synaptic Solutions identified a number of issues that were contributing to the poor performance that Filton users were experiencing. At Synaptics Solutions’ suggestion, Filton College decided to invest in a Meru Networks wireless network. KEMP MoneyWeek case study
The majority of organisations rely on email as their prime communication medium; however email in a magazine publishing environment is critical. Magazines survive on their bility to get the scoop or insight on stories and much of that is about speed – particularly for a weekly publication like MoneyWeek which is producing numerous stories each week for the magazine and website. Following a number of technical planning and scoping sessions with the System Professional project team, a revised design and project plan was agreed for the Exchange 2010 upgrade. This involved an initial server virtualisation of the MoneyWeek infrastructure and the introduction of two storage area networks.

QNI is a family-owned media company that originated in the newspapers of Quincy, Illinois. The company's history can be traced back to 1835, when the Bounty Land Register was one of only four newspapers in all of Illinois. Over the next century, a number of mergers followed. The Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service Streamlines Backups, Saves Money with Disk-based Backup
FMCS’s IT department is responsible for supporting 500 users in 250 different offi ces throughout the U.S. The agency conducts much of its business over the web and protects lots of different types of data, including information from web, database, Blackberry and email servers that are located in its Washington, D.C. datacenter and are used to support its day-to-day business activities. The staff had been backing up the agency’s data to a disk array for short term storage and then sent the backups to tape each night for long term storage. Each week, the IT staff mailed out tapes to a secure facility for safekeeping, but with a three year retention mandate, the cost of tape, mailing and offsite storage was a budget-buster.

Plymouth College of Further Education
The college issued a Request for Tender inviting suppliers to submit a proposal to design, build and implement a scalable, cost effective Wireless LAN network that wouldn't easily date for up to 600 members of staff over two campuses 1.25 miles geographically separate. The solution of choice would need to accommodate a variety of different applications ranging from a presentation to a multimedia stream from the Internet. Key factors influencing their decision would be cost effectiveness, reliability and speed of implementation. The new wireless solution needed to seamlessly integrate with their existing 100mb wired network and crucially needed to be up and running in time for the start of term.
